This Fender Japan JB62-550 is a highly regarded, vintage-style reissue of the iconic 1962 Fender Jazz Bass. It was constructed during Fender Japan's peak partnership with the legendary FujiGen Gakki factory, who produced instruments celebrated by bassists for their world-class woodwork, meticulous neck pocket fit, and outstanding durability. The suffix "-550" denotes the original retail price of the instrument in Japanese Yen at the time of release, which positioned it as a standard, highly reliable vintage reissue model utilizing premium domestic electronics paired with a traditional wood selection. True to 62 specs it includes the narrow 38mm nut width, a distinctively slim "Oval" neck profile, a vintage-correct 7.25-inch fretboard radius, and a distinct, external thin brass grounding strip that runs directly from the underside of the bridge plate straight into the cavity of the bridge pickup to suppress electrical noise.
