Although visually influenced by the iconic late-1950s Les Pauls, this 2017 Standard T was designed as a contemporary and versatile interpretation rather than a historically exact reissue. Its two Alnico V Burstbucker Pro humbuckers are combined with four push-pull controls providing individual pickup coil switching, phase reversal and a Pure Bypass function that routes the bridge pickup directly to the output. Other modern features include Ultra-Modern weight relief, a compound-radius fingerboard, a Tektoid nut and locking Grover tuners, while the traditional Les Paul neck heel, amber top-hat knobs, cream plastics and brown hardshell case distinguish the T version from the more radically equipped 2017 HP model. It features a distinctive AAA-figured maple top.
