Comments:

The SG was originally introduced in 1961 as a redesign of the Les Paul Standard. It was renamed "SG" (Solid Guitar) in 1963 after Les Paul's endorsement contract ended. The Seymour Duncan SH-2N (Jazz) and SH-4 (JB) pickups are not factory standard for a 2024 SG; they are a popular aftermarket upgrade known as the "Hot Rodded Humbucker" set, providing more versatility and output than the original Gibson 490R/490T or Burstbuckers. The Gotoh locking tuners are also an aftermarket or "Mod Collection" addition, as standard 2024 production models typically ship with Grover Rotomatics or Vintage Deluxe tuners.
