The 000-28 is one of Martinās most storied models, dating back to the early 20th century.Ā It is widely considered the ultimate fingerstyle guitar but is versatile enough for light strumming: unlike its sister model, the OM-28, the 000-28 uses a shorter scale (24.9"), which lowers string tension and makes "bending" notes easierāa favorite feature for blues players.Ā In 2018, Martin "reimagined" the Standard Series, updating the 000-28 with vintage-inspired appointments and modern playability features.Ā This specific era of production features High-Performance Taper necks and Forward-Shifted X-Bracing, which increases the vibration of the top for more bass response than pre-2018 versions.Ā
