Comments:
The Rickenbacker 330, originally called the "Capri" series, was first introduced in 1958. Designed by Roger Rossmeisl, it has become Rickenbacker's most popular and best-selling model. It is iconic for its "jangle" and "chime," historically associated with the 1960s British Invasion and later with the 1980s alternative rock scene. The body is carved from a solid block of maple, with a separate maple back glued on to create internal resonance chambers. The Fireglo colour is Rickenbacker's signature sunburst finish, featuring a vibrant red-to-amber transition that highlights the maple body's wood grain. In a major update starting in January 2023, modern 330s returned to a 21-fret neck (the vintage specification) from the 24-fret standard used since 1970. Modern 330s use Hi-gain single-coil pickups, which offer more bite and sustain compared to the lower-output "toaster" pickups of the 1960s, but still feature the traditional blend knob (the "fifth knob") to balance pickup output.
